Production Progress

Overview

In the Production Progress application, the user captures progress for tickets currently in production.  Production on tickets are started, updated, can be paused and certain lines amended.  When production is completed, the ticket is marked as completed and the ticket status updates accordingly.  Data generated from this application is extensively used in compiling various Manufacturing reports.

Function

For accuracy of data, the application requires the user to start and complete the set up sub-process first.  The manufacturing sub-process cannot be started before set up has been completed.

Steps to complete set up:

Select the ticket type and asset.  The ticket picker will only show the tickets for that asset.  Select the shift.

The status of the sub process will be displayed next to the ticket number field.

If the sub-process has not been started, only the clip2252 button will activate.  If it has been started all the buttons except clip2253 will be enabled.  If a sub-process has been paused, the button will be active.

When you click on the complete button, Progress date field will enable.  Enter completion date and post.  The sub-process status will update to completed.

If set up completion is less than 10 minutes from set up start time, the user will have to provide a reason for the set up time.

If set up is not completed and the user tries to start the manufacturing process, the following message will appear:

Now the manufacturing sub-process can be started.  Select this from the Sub-process picker, the 'Start' button and 'Start Date' field will enable.  Enter start date and post.  The manufacturing sub-process status will show as started.

Capturing Progress

Progress is captured per shift and this must be selected from the picker.

The progress date, quantity produced and % completion fields will be enabled.  Either quantity or completion % can be captured, the one automatically updates the other.  Select clip2254, the line will appear in the grid, with progress comment:  Production update.

To continue capturing progress for the same ticket, either both the shift and sub-process or the sup-process only can be re-selected.

For weaving tickets, progress is captured per shift per loom because one weaving ticket can be in production on multiple looms.

For weaving tickets only pick count can be captured and production quantity is calculated from that.  Various looms have various types of meters.  The type is displayed in the application.

Only the end pick count field will be enabled.  Enter the count and post.

The Progress Date may not be more than one hour ahead from current time.

Pausing a Ticket

The application is in progress capture mode.  Select Cancel first.

The 'Pause' button will be enabled.  Select this button.  A message will ask the user to confirm the pause date.  If the date is not correct, select No and amend the date.  Select the 'Post' button and drop down with possible reasons will appear:

Select relevant reason and click on the button.  The line will be posted in the grid with progress comment: Paused and the reason.

The status for the sub-process will be displayed as Paused.

For all other tickets except weaving tickets, no production can be captured against the ticket until production is resumed, only the button will be enabled.

When selecting , a confirmation message will appear to ask if the date is correct, if not select , amend the date and clip2254.  The line will post in the grid with the relevant progress comment and the sub-process status will be updated.  Production can now be captured as normal.

For weaving tickets production is paused per loom.  Production progress for the ticket can still be captured for all the other looms on which the ticket is being produced except the paused loom.

Production on that loom can be resumed as described above.

The button opens the following screen:

From this screen you can filter by ticket and by status or type the ticket number in the field.

Select the desired ticket and click on the button to continue.

If the button is selected with a canceled ticket you will be asked if you wish to activate the ticket.  This is only available to access level 3/'Other' users as per the Profile Maintenance application.

Amending a Line

Only quantity, time and date of the latest production lines van be amended.  Production start, complete, pause and resume lines cannot be amended.

Note

Only one ticket can be in production on a loom at a given time.  The next ticket can be started only after the manufacturing sub-process of the previous ticket has been updated to status 'Complete'.  Should the user try to start a new ticket on a loom that is still in production the following message will appear:

Progress is captured per shift.  A shift roster exists and progress capture is validated against this roster.  Should the time and date selected for the progress quantity fall outside the shift times of the selected shift, the following message will appear:

Pending

The button opens the following screen:

The transactions shown here are pending approval using the tablet application.
