Loop Maintenance

Overview

This application allows you to setup and maintain schedule loops.  Loops are a widely used concept in instrumentation.  It refers to various related instruments that work together as part of the same chain.  These instruments are not necessarily in the same area and might be linked to different assets.

 

Users who have access to the Schedule Maintenance application will automatically have access to the Loop Maintenance application.

 

Function

The components defined for each loop will be listed when creating schedules using the Schedule Maintenance application.

When the application is opened, the following options will be available:

 

Creating a New Loop:

Click on the button.  You will now be able to enter the Loop Code and Loop Description.

You now have to select components to link to the loop you are creating:

You can either double click on the line you wish to add or select it and click on the button.

Added components will be displayed in the grid on the right of the screen:

 

To remove components from the loop, double click the line you wish to remove or click on the button.  Before you can save the loop, you have to specify a default component.  You can do this by selecting the line of the component you wish to set as default component (in the right grid) and click on the button.  The default component will be highlighted green:

 

The list of components available for selection can be filtered using the filter options at the bottom of the list:

 

When you have completed linking components to the loop, click on the button to save the changes.

The loop will now be displayed in the top grid with the other existing loops.

 

Amend and Delete

You can also or existing loops using the Loop Maintenance application.  Select the loop you wish to amend or delete from the top grid.

Note:  You will not be able to delete a component if it is linked to a loop.
